RHQ Encampment Circular No. 01

TO       :           ALL COUNCIL EXECUTIVES
RE       :           27th REGIONAL ENCAMPMENT
DATE  :           08 SEPTEMBER 2016

            We are pleased to inform that the 27th Regional Encampment to be hosted by Zamboanga City Girl Scout Council will be held on February 6-10, 2017 at Jardin de las Niñas Regional Program and Training Center, Cabatangan, Zamboanga City with the theme “Girl Scouts: Connect. Create. Change.”.

            Hereunder is the initial information about the event.

            PARTICIPANTS                    :           A patrol of Junior/ Senior Girl Scouts or more with
Adult Leaders.
                                                                        No limit as to number of campers. Councils may send
as many patrols provided they are qualified and to confirm two (2) weeks before the event.

FEE                                         :           P550.00 per camper to cover the program materials,
camp souvenirs and life insurance;
P50.00 for the fare of each camper during the Educational Tour, hence campers with vehicles may not pay this amount.
                                                                       
 


QUALIFICATION OF PARTICIPANTS

GIRL:
1.    Currently registered Junior / Senior / Cadet Girl Scout.
2.    Must be physically fit and alert.
3.    Must have earned at least one badge under the 8-Point Challenge.
4.    Must have attended a troop / patrol camp prior to this encampment.


ADULT:
1.    Currently registered Troop Leader.
2.    Preferably a Campcraft Certificate Holder.
3.    Must be physically and mentally fit.



         PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

                Campers will experience exciting and adventure- filled activities such as:
-       Songs and Dances
-       Arts and Crafts ( PhotoBox)
-       Campfire
-       Thinking Day
-       Scout’s Own
-       Free Being Me
-       Emergency Preparedness (Earthquake Drill)
-       Junior / Senior Master Chef
-       Obstacle Games
-       Titas Night
-       Educational Tour at the “Asia’s Latin City”
-       Socialization Night
-       Miss GSP 2017


            THINGS TO BRING

            The following personal things of the individual camper should be prepared and be brought at the camp. Campers are encouraged to travel light and they should only bring what are needed.






PERSONALTHINGS
Membership Card (Girl and Adult)
Toilet articles (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, powder, towel, deodorant, etc.)
Official/Camp Uniforms (Bermuda short & GSP T-shirts), pins, badge, strips, belt, scarf, white socks, and GS Cap

Sit- upon (a plastic sheet about 3 feet square)
Prescribed medicines/ First aid Kit
Flashlight
Comfortable working clothes
Whistle
Jogging pants
Set of eating utensils
Sweater/ jacket/ long sleeves
Writing materials
Casual dress
Extra shirts for obstacle games
Costume for the presentation by sub-camp
Bedroll or sleeping bag
Official black shoes
Girl scout knife
Sleeping garments (blanket or malong)
Raincoat
Insect repellant
Slipper and rubber shoes

PATROL EQUIPMENT
Cooking facilities (stove, pots, pans, utensils, etc.)
Materials for camp gadgets (bamboos can be ordered at Regional Office ahead of time)
Food services (platters, bowls, serving items, water jag or pitchers)
Bulletin (made of cloth, safety pins to tuck on notices, etc.)
Washing facilities (pails, basins, detergent, and dish towels)
Quarter tent, fly tent for kitchen shed, and plastic bags for waste disposal
Each patrol will bring their own food provisions in camp
Rechargeable lamp
First aid kit
Council Flag

ACTIVITY MATERIALS
Scissors
Paperknife or cutter
Art/ Coloring Materials
Rugby

OPTIONAL
Camera/ Musical Instrument
Souvenirs/Tokens for exchange with other campers



            Attached herewith are the tentative programs of activities, camp application, and parent’s consent and health forms. 

            Other details of the camp will be sent in the succeeding circulars. Meanwhile, we suggest that the participants of the event be screened and be given the needed preparation.
